The teacher workload crisis is hitting headlines on an increasingly frequent basis. Educators are expected to keep huge amount of plates spinning at all times, so it’s vital that they have everything they need. However, even with all of the most cutting-edge resources around, schools are all-too-often short on arguably the most rarefied asset: time. This is the issue that the team at TrainingToolz is looking to overhaul for good.

Celebrating their first birthday this month, TrainingToolz was created by the the award-winning team behind and It allows schools to create, monitor and distribute training throughout the school ecosystem - simply, quickly and without hassle. SLT and teachers can select from a library of CPD-approved courses or add their own content, videos, images, audio and interactive questions into a user-friendly template and - hey presto - they have a training assignment ready to go. The user selects from from their candidate list before the system sends out the invitations with the training link. School staff then complete the training on their computer or mobile device, with their administrator monitoring progress and results in real-time.

By empowering schools to strengthen their training delivery and improve staff CPD, TrainingToolz shifts training from an isolated (one system, process, department, etc), expensive experience to an improved, better-coordinated cost effective whole-school approach.

Concentrating on the school community as a whole, the online platform provides schools with the tools needed to both excel at mandatory training and develop the bespoke, in-house course content needed specifically for their staff. This includes the uploading of policies and procedures, as well as distributing updates to the community in seconds.

Delivering training across my various sites used to be time-consuming and expensive,” explained Kim Edwards, senior premises and compliance officer at Aspire Academies Trust and West Herts Teaching School Partnership. “TrainingToolz has empowered my Trust to save time, money and effort. I can now execute training across my school community in a matter of seconds.”

The TrainingToolz team are also conscious of the potential time-consuming hassle presented by the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), coming into effect on 25th May. They see the change-over as a significant opportunity for all schools to strengthen their data protection policies and practise, and have developed a limited free, online, CPD-approved training course to help. The course can be accessed and distributed by creating a free TrainingToolz account here.

Sunny Majhu, marketing director at TrainingToolz, said: “Schools are being faced with increasing pressures to be more effective and demonstrate more impact constantly. The workload crisis is undoubtedly damaging staff morale, leading to staff retention issues across the country. TrainingToolz is designed to help ease some of these pressures, delivering automated staff training in the most effective and measurable way.

The platform is designed with access to a library of CPD-approved courses. Major advantages include the flexibility for schools to create their own staff course content online - which can then be deployed across the entire school within seconds - and for the leadership team to monitor performance in real-time through the online dashboards. In just minutes, everyone across the school community benefits by having access to fast, scalable, consistent training.
