Designed by Primary school teachers specialising in Primary PE, the brand new Primary PE Passport is delighted to be exhibiting at the Education Show this year for the first time (Stand GG91). It is the only app available for Primary schools specifically designed to support teachers, subject leaders and senior leaders with the tools they need to plan, deliver, assess, monitor and evidence the impact of high-quality PE.

The app is comprehensive yet flexible, with schools able to select their own progressive and detailed units of work which can be edited and personalised by staff. Evidence can be gathered using multimedia to back up the formative and/or summative assessment based on National Curriculum outcomes (including self-assessment, where children can identify their own next steps in learning). Tracking of participation in extracurricular and competition is another great feature, again contributing to comprehensive reports for schools on standards, participation and competition.

SA: Innovative, time-saving, comprehensive.

What impact has the PE Passport had on your school?

SA: As a pilot school using the passport, it has been great to see it develop, it’s a fantastic tool in terms of progression and assessment which will aid moderation and Ofsted visits.
SM: Staff have found the lessons easy to use and the videos have improved confidence in lesson delivery. There is now a clear progression in schemes of work throughout the school. It is extremely useful to be able to video children to record evidence and have all the assessment in one place.

What feedback have you had from your staff when using the PE Passport?

SA: All the staff are very positive about the PE passport, and they find it to be user friendly. They love having the ability to record observations during lessons, make annotations during sessions.
SM: 'This is exactly what I need. PE is my least confident subject so the videos will help me deliver the skills accurately'.

What is your favourite feature of the PE Passport?

SM: The videos - clear and easy to use and help with staff CPD.
SA: It is great to be able to track individuals and groups of children across the school, closely monitoring progress. It is beneficial to see exactly what is being taught in PE across the school, all year.

Would you recommend the PE Passport to other schools? If so, why?

SA: Simply due to the fact that for it encapsulates all the vital aspects of planning and assessment needed during PE delivery from individual lesson plans, assessment opportunities, progression and evidence collation. It ticks so many boxes when it comes to PE. SM: As a PE leader, I want to ensure that there is progression across the PE curriculum, clear expectations and assessment where pupils can be tracked. It also helps with the School Games Mark as you can log competitions and clubs which saves lots of time and effort. A highly recommended piece of software.
