UK schools are reporting Milk as their most readily adopted system, with 260,000 app interactions and 56,000 web portal interactions per month, per school. Last term, Newent Community School & Sixth Form Centre introduced Milk Student Planner System. We asked Ann Price, business manager, about the school’s experience.
What’s been the overall feedback from Milk users?
“Staff have been predominantly positive. Students have been happy. 79% of parents have said that MILK has been a positive way forward, and 74% have said it makes it easier to understand the homework – we recently did a survey.”

Would you recommend Milk to other schools?
“Yes, and I have. Milk is a simple, clear and totally effective system for managing homework and sending communication home. The implementation was well managed and supported. The support function is second-to-none, with every question answered quickly and completely. I would recommend the system 100%.”
Other studies have shown Milk can improve student lateness by 87% and homework submission by 44%. There’s also net financial savings on offer in the region of £8500 a year on paper planners, texting services and photocopying if using Milk's messaging features and file uploads.

Milk’s award-winning technical director, Adrian Rowbotham has overseen its design and technical development. Ade created McLaren's live racing platform, masterminded Team GB’s award-winning website and mobile app for London 2012, and worked with Sharp to deliver a fan-driven data app for Euro 2012. He was also behind the launch of JK Rowling’s ‘Pottermore’ and worked closely with Rolex to create an exclusive app and digital platform for Rolex owners.

An overworked Mathematics teacher in a high school that was plunged into special measures before converting to academy status, Michael created Milk to improve teaching conditions. His vision struck a chord with Adrian when they first met in 2013. Unbeknownst to Michael, Adrian’s mother was also a teacher and was signed-off sick because of work related stress. Since their fateful meeting, Milk has helped 100,000s of users.
